Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL side Niger Tornadoes have confirmed Bernard Ogbe as the new head coach of the team. The former technical adviser to Jos based Mighty Jet FC will now take charge the Niger State owned team in the next NPFL campaign which is expected to kick-start later in the year. Ogbe, who officially resumes on Tuesday at Minna will take up technical department of the club after finalizing his contract with Tornadoes FC management committee office last week. The new technical adviser’s deal was completed alongside new chairman of the club Abubakar Mustapha. Nigerian club, Rivers United to be disbanded
Nigeria Premier League side, Rivers United could be disbanded if the claims by the River State Commissioner for Sport, Boma Iyaye is anything to go by. The state-owned club have continued to struggle, losing their second consecutive match in the ongoing 2018 Aiteo Cup and the government official has sued for their disbandment. Iyaye decried their poor performances this season in addition to questioning the ability and impact of the coach of the team. He said the team lacks compact strength, coaching and technical input as he promises to recommend disband of the entire team for a fresh start.
