Mainz 05 defender Jean-Philippe Gbamin is reportedly attracting interest from a lot of Premier League clubs including Liverpool.
According to him agent Bernard Collignon, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp called over a possible deal but his German Bundesliga outfit didn’t want to release him in the middle of the season.
The Liverpool manager called the player about a potential transfer in January 2018.
Jean-Philippe Gbamin is an Ivorian international player that can play in a number of positions effectively and efficiently.
The Mainz 05 star can play either as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp was rebuffed in his attempt to sign Gbamin in January 2018 thus prompting him to move on to Brazilian international Fabinho whom he signed from French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco last summer.
Fabinho started life at Anfield slowly but he was able to pick up towards the winter section of the season.
The Brazilian international player was part of the Liverpool team that pushed Premier League champions Manchester City all the way to the Premier League title.
Manchester City won the league from Liverpool by one point.
Fabinho was also in action for Liverpool when they defeated Tottenham Hotspur to win the Champions League title.
The agent of Gbamin rates his client at €60m and also confirmed that talks have taken place with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.
