£107m Chelsea Target Undergoes Medical

Benfica attacker Joao Felix has reportedly done his Atletico Madrid medical ahead of a big money move to the Spanish capital.

This is according to the latest reports coming out of the media in his native Portugal.

Joao Felix is one of the most exciting young prospects on the European football scene and several clubs are on his trail.

West London giants Chelsea were strongly linked with the young Portuguese forward until they were hit with a two-window transfer ban by world football’s governing body FIFA.

Chelsea were punished for their misgivings in the signing of players under the age of 18 but the newly crowned Europa League winners have always maintained their innocence promoting the appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

Others like Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Juventus and Barcelona have also been linked with the 19-year-old Portuguese international player since he burst onto the scene at the start of the just concluded Portuguese Super League season.

He was one of the star players for Benfica as they reclaimed their league title from arch rivals, FC Porto.

Joao Felix has a €120m (£107m) release clause in his Benfica contract and Atletico Madrid have activated it.

The player has done his medical ahead of the multi-million pounds move.
