Champions League holders Liverpool will have to spend €75m to sign highly-rated Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer.
This is according to the publication from the stables of the Guardian which claimed that Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas won’t sell one of his prized assets for anything short of €75m (£66.6m).
Liverpool won’t sign many players this summer but the Reds want to sign a backup left-back for first choice Andy Robertson and a new midfielder.
Spanish left-back Alberto Moreno was the backup for Scottish national team skipper Robertson but the former Sevilla player has left the club after the expiration of his contract.
Tanguy Ndombele is one of the midfield targets on the Reds’ list but Liverpool are not the only clubs interested in the 22-year-old French international player.

Liverpool have been linked with other midfielders like Lyon teammate Nabil Fekir and Real Madrid outcast James Rodriguez.
Apart from Liverpool, Ndombele is attracting interest from major European sides like Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are said to be serious about a deal for him with the North London giants willing to spend as much as €50m for the Lyon midfielder.
The Champions League finalists want to sign a new midfielder this summer.
