Chelsea Target Offered €30m Contract At Man City

Benfica attacker Joao Felix has been offered a lucrative contract by Premier League champions Manchester City as major European sides continue to do battle for the right to sign him.

According to the publication from the stables of popular English news portal Daily Mail, Manchester City have offered the young Portuguese international a five-year contract worth €30m (£26.6m).

Joao Felix is one of the most in-demand players on the transfer window after a sensational season with Portuguese champions Benfica.

The 19-year-old was the standout player for a Benfica team that reclaimed their league title from rivals FC Porto on the final day of the just concluded Portuguese Superstar League season.

Joao Felix scored 20 goals and also provided 11 assists in all competitions for the Portuguese giants.

His best performance for Benfica came in the Europa League when he scored three goals during the first leg of their Europa League quarterfinal clash with German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

His treble propelled Benfica to a 4-2 win over the Germans but they were unable to preserve that advantage after Eintracht Frankfurt won the second leg 2-0 to secure a semifinal berth via the away goals rule.

Apart from Manchester City, clubs like Juventus, Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Chelsea are interested in the teen sensation though the Blues are currently hampered by a two-window transfer ban.

Chelsea have taken their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in an attempt to have the transfer ban overturned.
