The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed that they have received Chelsea’s appeal against the transfer ban handed out to them by world football’s ruling body FIFA.
The new development was made known by CAS via an official statement released by the body on Friday morning.
Chelsea were slapped with a two-window transfer ban by FIFA after they were found culpable in the signing of players under the age of 18.
The Blues won’t be able to sign players during this summer’s transfer window and during the winter transfer window next year as a result of the ban.

Chelsea had earlier appealed against the April 11 ruling from FIFA only for their appeal to be thrown out by the football governing body’s Appeal Committee.
In addition to the transfer ban, Chelsea were also fined 600,000 CHF in addition to being warned about their future conduct.
CAS is expected to make a ruling on the appeal this summer.
Chelsea would be desperate to overturn that transfer ban for them to be able to sign new players this summer having already agreed to sell their best player Eden Hazard.
The Belgian international star will leave the club this summer after Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid agreed on a deal to sign him.
