Liverpool In Four-Way Battle For 23-Goal Striker

European champions Liverpool are in a four-team fight for the right to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele during this transfer window.

This is according to the publication from the stables of popular French media portal L’Equipe via Goal.

Moussa Dembele has been an instant hit at Lyon since joining the former French champions at the start of the just concluded campaign.

The aforementioned report revealed that Liverpool are in a big battle with the likes of Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona and fellow Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United for Moussa Dembele.

Liverpool have already announced the imminent exit of Daniel Sturridge from the club and the Reds would be hoping to secure a replacement for him.

Moussa Dembele, 22, could be the direct replacement for former Manchester City and Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge.

England international Sturridge scored four goals for Liverpool in all competitions during the just concluded season having returned from a loan spell at West Brom during the second half of the 2017/18 season.

French striker Moussa Dembele scored 23 goals in all competitions for Lyon during the just concluded season.

The former Celtic player was not always in the starting XI at Lyon but he still managed to play a big role for his French club who finished third in the league thereby securing a return to the Champions League.
