Emergency meeting at the Old Trafford over deal for trio

It has been reported that Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has met with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over the future of some of the club stars ahead of the summer transfer window.

There is yet to be any headway over the contract talks between the Red Devils and the three players – David De Gea, Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata as their contract is already running to an end.

David De Gea is no doubt being forced with a stay at the club as a clause in his contract which have him stay at Ols Trafford for another 12-months has been triggered following his refusal to pen a new deal with the club.

For Juan Mata, there is no agreement between with the club over a stay when his contract expires but there is an urgency to have him around owing to his quality and experience.

The man behind the slow talks of a contract extension with Alex Sanchez has been manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if reports are to be believed as he is claimed to be ready to part ways with the former Arsenal star owing to his poor form.

However, Ed Woodward seeks to k ow the stand of the former Red Devils forward on the three players as he hopes to have a balanced squad that will not be left with just young players alone because of the need for experience and leadership.
