Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic is keen to make his loan move to Stamford Bridge permanent according to the publication from popular media outlet Goal.
It was revealed that the Croatian World Cup star won’t mind staying in West London despite the recent reappointment of French football legend Zinedine Zidane at his parent club Real Madrid.
Zidane became the third manager at Real Madrid in March following the dismissal of former teammate Santiago Solari who had replaced ex-Spanish national team manager Julen Lopetegui as the Real Madrid manager in October.
The 1998 World Cup winner returns to Real Madrid just nine months after resigning from the post despite leading the club to a third successive Champions League title via a 3-1 win over Liverpool in their final clash.
Mateo Kovacic was part of that Real Madrid team under Zidane but he didn’t stay at the club after the manager’s exit.
The 24-year-old joined Chelsea on a season-long loan deal last summer from the Los Merengues as part of the £35m transfer that took Belgian international shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois from West London to Real Madrid.
He has made 41 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions since the start of the season with the Blues still chasing honours in both the Premier League and the Europa League.
