Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is a big doubt for the Three Lions of England ahead of their Euro 2020 qualifying clash with Montenegro on Monday night.
Henderson could miss the Euro qualifier with Montenegro as a result of an injury.
The 28-year-old played the entire duration of the last game for the Three Lions as they thrashed the Czech Republic 5-0 to open their Euro 2020 account with a win.
Former Liverpool teammate Raheem Sterling was the star of the show for the 1966 world champions as he scored a treble in addition to further goals from Harry Kane and a Tomas Kalas own goal.
The injury status of the Liverpool skipper was confirmed by England manager Gareth Southgate who revealed during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Montenegro game that Jordan Henderson has been carrying an ankle injury.
Henderson suffered the injury in the early minutes of the Champions League game between Bayern Munich and Liverpool earlier this month.
He was subbed off for Fabinho in the first half of that game.
Apart from Jordan Henderson, Gareth Southgate is also sweating over the fitness of both Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
England and Southgate would be hoping to make it two wins from two against Montenegro.
