Crystal Palace pulled off one of the biggest transfers of the just concluded January transfer window in the Premier League following the loan capture of Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.
Several clubs were interested in a loan deal for the Belgian international attacker before the Eagles snapped him up for the remainder of the season.
Michy Batshuayi was recently part of the Belgium squad that finished third at last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
Belgium recorded their best finish at a World Cup tournament as a result of that third-placed finish.
After the World Cup tournament, the 25-year-old joined Spanish La Liga club Valencia on a season-long loan deal but his loan contract was terminated at the halfway stage after failing to perform for Los Che on a consistent basis.
He scored just once in 15 Spanish La Liga games at Valencia.
Michy Batshuayi had previously enjoyed a successful loan spell at German Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season.
The former Marseille star netted nine times in 14 appearances for Dortmund during the second half of last season.
Michy Batshuayi became a Chelsea in 2016 following a €40m (£33.2m) move from French club Marseille.
West Ham United, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, and Real Betis were all interested in him before his loan move to Palace.
