West Ham United have reportedly lined up a replacement for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi before the end of this winter transfer window.
The Guardian revealed that the Hammers have identified a Ligue 1 striker as an option in the event that West Ham United can’t secure the signing of Belgian international star Batshuayi.
The 25-year-old was part of the Belgium squad that posted their best result in the history of the World Cup at last summer’s edition in Russia.
The Red Devils of Belgium finished in the third position at the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament via a third/fourth playoff win over England.
Michy Batshuayi could join West Ham on loan until the end of the season.
The Hammers have lined up AS Monaco striker Stevan Jovetic as a replacement for him if they miss out on Batshuayi.
Jovetic is no stranger to West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini having played under the Chilean while he was the Manchester City manager.
Montenegro star Jovetic scored 10 goals in 21 appearances for Monaco in the last campaign but he has found the back of the net three times this season.
Apart from West Ham United, Michy Batshuayi also has a loan offer from Spanish La Liga club Real Betis.
