Chelsea obviously need to bolster their attacking threat and that’s the main reason why Maurizio Sarri must snap up Arber Zeneli at the ongoing transfer market.
Though the Italian manager recently completed his move for Gonzalo Higuain, you will agree with me that there is a limit to what the Argentine could do considering his age and the hectic nature of the League.
Higuain’s form since the start of the season is equally unconvincing, having scored just six goals in all his appearances with AC Milan.
Contrary to Higuain, Zeneli is in fine form with his Eredivisie side Heerenveen this season. The 23-year-old winger is one of the most lively dribblers in Dutch league while his goalscoring abilities is another trait why the Blues must compete for his signature this month.
According to the Daily Mail, the Blues have shown interest in the Kosovo international but neither Abramovich nor Sarri is willing to make an official bid for his service.
Since his move to Heerenveen from Swedish side Elfsborg in 2016, Zeneli has contributed to 48 goals — 21 goals and 27 assists — in just 99 matches.
The most interesting part of the story is that the relatively unknown player is as ‘cheap’ as £5m, a fee the Blues won’t feel too much to drop.
Considering his price tag, Zeneli won’t be under any pressure to deliver and that will help him play his normal game which will provide more goals and assist to the Stamford Bridge outfits.
Willian’s form this term has left so much to be desired, hence, it won’t be out of place to see Sarri make move for the 23-year-old who will provide intense competition for the aging Brazilian winger.
