Juventus defender Daniele Rugani didn’t receive any offer from Chelsea in the summer, that’s according to the player in an interview with the press last week.
The 24-year-old was linked with a move to Chelsea where he would reunite with Sarri in July last year but the player debunked the rumor.
According to him, the Blues didn’t show any interest in his signature and he wasn’t desperate to leave the Scuddeto Champions before the start of the season.
According to Calciomercato last year, Rugani was studying English language in order to enhance settling down in England ahead of his proposed move to West London.
However, Rugani confirmed he had an English teacher but it wasn’t related to his switch to Stamford Bridge.
“I didn’t receive any call from Sarri. I am studying English but that’s not linked with work. I think it’s something important for my personal growth and for general culture.” he confessed
The Italian defender hasn’t been getting much game-time under Maximiliano Allegri this season and his future with the Scuddeto Champions is far from settled.
He has played just five League games but he said he’s not concerned about the lack of regular action, though, he would be happy if he sees more minutes on the field of play.
“Of course, I want to play, everybody wants to play more games but it’s also important the position in the group and I know my value.”
He was on target on against Roma on Saturday and he will hope that is enough to see him feature more regularly in the team as the season progresses.
