Premier League giants have reportedly agreed to sign two midfielders following the exit of Cesc Fabregas.
The Daily Telegraph claim that the Blues have agreed in principle to sign both Nicolo Barella and Leandro Paredes from Italian Serie A side Cagliari Calcio and Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg respectively.
Italian international midfielder Barella has been attracting the interests of several European sides following his impressive showings for his Italian Serie A side since he broke into the first team two years ago.
Apart from Chelsea, Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been linked with a transfer for the young Italian playmaker.
Italian sides like Juventus and Inter Milan have also been linked with the 21-year-old.
Unlike Nicolo Barella, Argentine midfielder Paredes was not a Chelsea transfer target up until the last few weeks.
Chelsea are looking for a replacement for Cesc Fabregas after the former Arsenal skipper left the Blues to join struggling French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco.
His transfer to Monaco was confirmed on Friday after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract.
He would link up with former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry.
Arsenal legend Henry is the Monaco manager after he was appointed earlier in the season following the dismissal of Leonardo Jardim.
