Arsenal legend Martin Keown has blasted the recruitment of Bernd Leno from German Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen as he thinks he is not any better than Petr Cech.
The North London side had invested £19.6 million on the goalkeeper with the hope that he would be an upgrade on the experienced former Chelsea goalkeeper but that seems not to be the case with the reality on ground.
Martin Keown has got reasons to cast all doubt on Bernd Leno after he conceded 5 goals against Premier League leaders Liverpool on Saturday night which is unacceptable to the legend.
It would be recalled that at the start of the season, Petr Cech was the first choice until the game against Watford when he sustained an injury which ensured the coming of the former Leverkusen keeper who won the heart of manager Unai Emery.
Martin Keown in his opinion feels Leno is not fit for the Gunners team, noting that he could not even make the German national team for the World Cup played in Russia.
The legend stated that the entire team made lots of mistakes they had to pay for but expected Leno to save the team and avoid the embarrassing 5-1 defeat.
