Liverpool defender Trent Alexander Arnold has made the final list of 20 players for this year’s Golden Boy Award.
The English right-back had earlier been named on the initial list of 100 players which has now been reduced to just 20.
The 20-year-old has been a consistent performer for both club and country in the last one year.
Trent Alexander Arnold broke into the Liverpool team last season and has usurped Nathaniel Clyne as the first choice right-back.
He was instrumental to the Reds’ impressive run to the Champions League final which they eventually lost 3-1 to European champions Real Madrid.
The Liverpool star was part of the England team that finished fourth at the World Cup tournament in Russia this summer.
The Golden Boy Award is the brainchild of popular Italian media portal Tuttosport and it’s to recognise the achievements of the best U-21 players on the European football scene.
The winner is decided by votes from journalists on a yearly basis.
PSG and France forward Kylian Mbappe won the award last year and he’s the overwhelming favourite to emerge as the award recipient again.
He was part of the French squad that won this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia and has been the standout player for PSG in the last six months.
