The Uefa Nations League between Italy and Poland took place last night with the Italian national squad been quite wasteful in terms of scoring goals despite their top performance.
Italy had two strikes in the first half that hit the bar, one of the strikes was from Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho, who played the ball from the box area.
However, Italy managed to have their first win since the commencement of the Uefa Nations League and also their first win since Roberto Mancini became the coach of the National team in May.
Cristiano Biraghi gave the Italian squad a late win by scoring a goal in last few minutes to the end of the match.
This latest development has seen Poland relegated from the Uefa Nations League.
Poland, Ukraine, and Italy are in the same group with Portugal, who are the leader of the group and are tipped to move to the semi-finals.
Portugal have six points from two matches while Italy has 4 points from three matches.
Robert Mancini, who is on a mission to rebuild the Italian national squad following failure to make it to the 2018 world cup in Russia said, Italy dominated the match and ”should have scored earlier and it would have been very unfair if the game had finished 0-0.”
