EPL: Chelsea players rating vs Southampton

The Blues had a wonderful experience in their EPL match against Southampton today.

Chelsea took all three points off the match in a deserved win over Southampton at St. Mary’s stadium.

The Blues won the match by three goals to nothing thanks to the superb effort from the trio of Eden Hazard, Ross Barkley, and Alvaro Morata.

With the look of things, Chelsea are now a major contender in the EPL alongside Liverpool and Man City.

Below are the Blues players rating from the match against Southampton.

Kepa (8): the expensive goalkeeper has continued to prove he is worth the pay. He made some crucial saves throughout the match.

Cesar Azplicueta (5): the right back defender did not really perform well, he allowed a pass slipped to Danny lngs, who missed the chance of scoring a goal for Southampton.

David Luiz (7): The centre-back was efficient and made some solid passes.

Antonio Rudiger (8): he has improved lately and really settling in his role as a top-rated defender.

Marcos Alonso (6): the left back didn’t move forward in his regular manner, he played a defensive game today.

Kante (6): the diminutive midfielder made some passes in the first half but didn’t do much in the second half, he played a defensive game.

Jorginho (7): he still remains the king of dangerous passes, he was brilliant at the centre of the midfield as usual.

Ross Barkley (8): the England international was the man of the match, he was efficient all through his presence on the pitch.

Willian (6): he didn’t put in much effort, he lost some passes but still manage to put through some passes that ended up as goals.

Eden Hazard (8): the Belgium star was great today scoring the first goal for Chelsea.

Olivier Giroud (7): he was close to securing a penalty kick and he paved the way for the second goal.

Substitutes
