Merseyside giants Liverpool could regret their inaction in the transfer race to complete the signing of left-back Joel Lopez, as the FC Barcelona youngster is allegedly heading to join North London side Arsenal.

The Telegraph has suggested that Arsenal have signed the teenager from the Catalan side after an initial report by Spanish publication Sport stated that the Reds were in hot chase of his signature.
It was thought that Lopez, had failed to land a new contract at the La Liga side, which sparked major interest from the English Premier League after a strong season in FC Barcelona U-16s club.

And it seems that the Gunners have won the transfer race to sign Lopez – a transfer deal that the Reds may well later regret it in years to come.
The North London giants have a massive history of grooming young Spaniards at the North London outfit and will certainly hope that Lopez can follow the footsteps of Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin breaking into the senior team and then the Spanish National team.
The Reds should have seen that the gunners had plans when they bring in a young Spaniard and should have made a better effort to land the teenager.
