Some Liverpool fans are still wishing for a miracle to bring Lyon star player Nabil Fekir down to Anfield this summer, but it appears it won’t materialise.
The French club’s top chief Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed his side won’t sell the talented Frenchman this year, blocking Jurgen Klopp’s hopes of reviving a deal for the player.
The Merseysiders appeared set to secure Nabil Fekir’s signature some days back after they agreed to a £52M deal with the French club.
Officials from Anfield travelled to Paris to conduct a medical for Nabil in a local hospital in the country, but they were not convinced with the condition of one of his knees, and they tried renegotiating a fee with his side.
The management at Lyon were sorely displeased with the Anfield club for this step and they chose to call off the deal.
However, Nabil remains desperate to join Liverpool, and there were speculations Lyon could still change their decision.
Unfortunately, Jean Michael has insisted his side won’t change their heart and won’t sell Fekir to Liverpool this summer.
This means manager Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool board must focus elsewhere in their attempt to sign a replacement for Philippe Coutinho before the start of the upcoming campaign.
