Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made it known that Adam Lallana’s fitness played a role in the decision not to sign a replacement for Philippe Coutinho in January.
Liverpool sold Phillipe to Barcelona during the winter transfer window for £142 Million, and the fans were expecting a new star player to replace the Brazilian at Anfield before the window closed last Wednesday.
The Merseyside club, however, failed to replace Coutinho, and manager Jurgen Klopp has made it known that Adam Lallana’s recovery from injury was one of the reasons they aren’t bothering about an immediate replacement for the Brazilian superstar.
Adam has started just two games this term so far, but the Englishman is expected to be part of the party to clash with Tottenham Hotspur in the premier league this weekend.
Tottenham won second-placed Manchester United on Wednesday at Wembley, and Mauricio Pochettino will be leading his men into the game against Liverpool with full confidence.
Liverpool are currently sitting on the third spot on the premier league table with 50 points from 25 top flight games played so far.
Tottenham are currently fifth, with 48 points. They have an opportunity to push themselves to the third position if they can win the Merseysiders this weekend.
So far this season, Spurs have won 15 out of their 25 top flight games.
