While many Liverpool fans are still expecting a new attacker to replace Philippe Coutinho at Anfield before the closure of the ongoing winter transfer window, manager Jurgen Klopp has made it known he won’t sign a replacement for the Brazilian superstar this month.
Liverpool sold the former Inter Milan player to Barcelona some days back for £142million.
Klopp’s side clashed with Manchester City immediately after Coutinho’s exit, and the reds were able to win the game even without the South American star – an indication they can cope without him.
However, Liverpool have currently lost two games in a row – a stunning defeat to Swansea City in the premier league, and another FA Cup defeat to West Brom.
The recent mood have caused concerns around the club, and many believe Jurgen Klopp should bring more spark into the team by signing a new superb player.
However, the German boss said he won’t sign a replacement for Coutinho this month, but that he will only find a solution to replacing the player from within his current squad.
The likes of Thomas Lemar, Riyad Mahrez and Javier Pastore have been linked with the Merseyside club in recent times, but it appears a deal for any of them will have to wait until next summer.
‘We have to use our [current] players [at the moment]’ the manager said.
