Arsene Wenger must take advantage of the ongoing winter transfer window to reinforce his squad by signing new players that can help fight for a spot in the top four (and perhaps, win the Europa League too).
And as far as Arsenal’s transfers are concerned, there are reports that the North Londoners are close to getting their first man.
According to The Guardian, the gunners have signed Konstantinos Mavropanos for a fee worth €2.1M from Pas Giannina.
After the 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Wednesday night, manager Arsene Wenger made it known that his side are signing Mavropanos anytime from now.
The Frenchman, however, added that the youngster won’t be playing for Arsenal yet, but will be loaned out immediately.
The 20-year-old is has been impressive at his side in recent times and is regarded as one of the best young defenders in the continent.
In 14 league appearances for Pas Giannina this season so far, the youngster has scored three goals.
Although Arsene Wenger has a fantastic attack, his back line is shaky, and he must bring a top quality defender to strengthen his defence department before the end of the ongoing window.
