As reported by top British publication the Mirror, North London giant Arsenal are prepared to walk away from securing the services of French youngster Thomas Lemar after failing in their attempt on summer transfer deadline day.
During the last summer deadline day madness at the North London club, Thomas Lemar was part of the transfer saga between Chilean international forward Alexis Sanchez moving to English Premier League side Manchester City and England star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joining Liverpool.
The former Barcelona forward didn’t join Manchester City, meaning the Gunners didn’t go in for the French youngster until Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain signed for Liverpool so Arsene Wenger’s side went back in for Lemar but missed out on Deadline day.
An offer of £90million was rejected by Thomas Lemar’s French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco and with Merseyside giant Liverpool and European heavyweights FC Barcelona keen on acquiring his services, the Gunners feel like the move is impossible despite AS Monaco being likely to cash in on Thomas Lemar at the end of the campaign.
AS Monaco were not willing to cash in on Thomas Lemar in the summer transfer window after the exit of Frenchman Kylian Mbappe, midfield maestro Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy, and Bernardo Silva.
The Gunners are now looking at other transfer targets such as Nabil Fekir, who is the Ex-teammate of Alexandre Lacazette.
