Arsene Wenger not worried by Stamford Bridge struggle records after recent wins against Chelsea ahead of London derby

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has pointed to his team’s recent cup victory over Chelsea as evidence his team can cope pretty well away from home.

Wenger insists his side’s poor recent record at Chelsea home ground – Stamford Bridge will count for little against the Blues on Sunday afternoon.

The North London club have not won at Stamford Bridge since October 2011, when Dutchman Robin van Persie netted a hat-trick in a 5-3 win.

The Gunners have also lost both of their English Premier League away matches this season to occupy 11th after four League games.

But rather than talking about recent history, the French tactician preferred to focus on the Gunner’s recent FA Cup and Community Shield successes over Antonio Conte’s team.

Arsene Wenger told newsmen after the UEFA Europa League victory over Cologne that the Blues have over the years always had a great squad.

He said: “It was always hard to win at Stamford Bridge, but our recent record against Chelsea has been good.

“We (Arsenal) won the (English) FA Cup final, we (Arsenal) won on penalties in the (FA) Charity Shield, so let us (Arsenal) just continue to focus on the quality of our play and not (dwell) too much on where(which Stadium) we play.

The Arsenal boss rested German Mesut Ozil and Welsh Aaron Ramsey against Cologne in the Champions League but thinks both players should be fit for the away clash with Chelsea.
