Chelsea Eager To Get Former Arsenal Target Before End Of Transfer Window

Everton star player Idrissa Gueye has emerged as a target for Chelsea as the summer transfer window approaches its end.

It was said that the club’s boss Antonio Conte is interested in bringing in the Senegalese should he fail to seal a deal for Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater.

The former Juventus manager is understood not to be pleased with the manner things turned out this summer at his current club despite that £140million was spent to bring in Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger.

The Italian boss revealed after his side’s won Tottenham that they are ‘trying their best’ to bring in new players before the transfer window finally closes on August 31.

English midfielder Danny Drinkwater has been repeatedly linked with the Stamford Bridge club recently after emerging as a target for the blues.

Drinkwater helped Leicester win the premier league title two years ago and the foxes have rejected a £25million bid submitted by Chelsea for him this summer. It is understood that they are playing hardball and want nothing less than £40m for the player.

And the Daily Mail are reporting that Chelsea boss Conte is seeking an alternative to Danny before the transfer window closes, and is an admirer of Everton star Gueye.

The Senegal international moved to Goodison Park from Aston Villa last year and was linked with Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal earlier in the summer – but the toffees refused to sell him to the gunners.
