Chelsea boss furious as Juventus turned down his £73m bid for 26-year-old defender – report

Premier League Champions Chelsea have seen their latest effort to sign Alex Sandro from Serie A giant Juventus once again rejected.

The Blues have been chasing the left-back since early in the summer transfer window.

Offers of £52million and £61million respectively have been turned down by the Serie A giant with head Coach Max Allegri keen to keep hold of the defender.

But, as per Italian publication Calciomercato, the West Londoners have tabled a third offer for the Brazilian, reportedly worth £62m up front plus add-ons.

The Serie A Champions have already lost experienced defender Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci to big spending Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan respectively this summer transfer window.

And it seems they are unwilling to lose another valuable player in their team.

Former Juventus manager Conte is keen to strengthen his options at full-back to provide competition for Nigerian Victor Moses and Spaniard Marcos Alonso.

And Conte has cut an angry figure recently, with Juventus’ latest refusal adding to his vexation.

The publication goes on to claim that Juventus are about offering Sandro a new contract at the Turin club which would see him earn about £4.5m per season.

The Blues have so far signed striker Alvaro Morata, midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, defender Antonio Rudiger and goalkeeper Willy Caballero this summer but Antonio Conte is reportedly desperate to secure the signing of four more players before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.
