And even though the rumours that the Serbian player would be keen on extending his contract have been in the media for days now, an Italian website Tutto Mercato Web have come up with an exclusive today claiming the agreement is ‘practically done’.

Nemanja Matic had a contract running until 2019, and according to Tutto Mercato  Web the new deal will expire only in 2021. It was stated that club owner Roman Abramovich’s intention would be to ‘block’ him from leaving so easily.

During the last summer window, Matic was the subject of some speculation and he was much linked with a move to Juventus by the Italian press.

But Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wanted the 28-year-old star to stay, and the player ended up becoming crucial in Chelsea’s new formation.

The Italian website claims the new deal should be announced in a week

Former Arsenal Man Makes Interesting Claim About Chelsea Forward

Ian Wright has claimed that Chelsea star player Willian would command a place in any of the Premier League’s top-four teams as he continues to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge.

The samba star has found his first-team opportunities limited this current campaign despite being one of Chelsea’s best players in an otherwise disappointing campaign.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte prefer to go with Pedro Rodriguez in his Chelsea starting line-up and Pedro has impressed with his performances.

Conte teed up Hazard for Chelsea’s opener in a 2-1 victory n at West Ham on Monday night, meaning Willian has had to make do with appearances in the FA Cup.

However, the Samba player is facing a battle to retain his cup place for the visit of United in the FA Cup quarter-final on Monday.

And Ian Wright speaking to The Sun Goals podcast, praised Willian’s attitude in the Chelsea squad.

“Willian would get into top four side. He’s happy to come off the bench and try to get himself back in the team,” Wright said.
