Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has stated that the disciplinary issues normally associated with his in-form star striker Diego Costa is a thing of the past.
Brazilian born Spanish striker Diego Costa has been in superb form this season with 10 goals and 4 assists in 13 games for the Stamford Bridge outfit while issues as regards his discipline has been at its lowest ebb in the past few weeks and this is further highlighted by the fact that he has been on four yellow cards (making the 28-year old a booking away from a one-game suspension) for the past few weeks.
Speaking about his star striker ahead of his side’s huge clash with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, Antonio Conte said: “I am pleased for him, for Diego.”
“He is showing a great respect, great passion in the right way during these games. It is fantastic for him, for me, his team-mates and the club.
“Also it is great to talk about Diego in a positive way and not a bad way. At the start of the season, the questions about Diego were about how his passion was not good and that we should try to change his behaviour.
“I think Diego is playing very well and we are happy that this [bad] behaviour is in the past.” he further added.
