Arsenal boss Unai Emery has admitted one of the biggest mistakes he has made in his career as a coach especially in terms of transfer dealings.
According to the Spanish boss, he turned down the opportunity to sign Egyptian international Mohamed Salah for French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain.
He explained that it was not his decision alone but the club as well had doubts about the ability of the former AS Roma player because PSG was regarded as “too big” for him.
Emery joined Arsenal from PSG where he had two years spell from 2016 to 2018 and he explained that he had the option of having the Liverpool star before his move from Roma to the Anfield in 2017.
However, Salah went ahead to sign for the Reds where he has now become a world figure, especially with his performance last season when he helped his side reach the Champions League finals and finishing second in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Emery will now face Salah as an opponent with Arsenal in Saturday’s game against Liverpool for the English Premier League clash.
There is no doubt about the threat posed by the Egyptian international which might be difficult for the Gunners to contain.
