Manchester United defender Phil Jones is reportedly a target for London sides Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the coming January winter transfer window.
Jones’ contract with the Red Devils will be expiring at the end of the season. If no deal is put in place, Manchester United might be forced to take up their 12-month option on Jones by the end of the month, claims the British tabloid.
Jones joined the Old Trafford when former manager Alex Ferguson was in charge for a reported fee of £15 million.
The 26-year-old England international will be an asset to his suitors knowing that he is an experienced Premier League player who has the full knowledge of the clubs, players and the coaches because of how long he has spent in the league.
This makes the situation surrounding his future a surprise knowing that he would be a big miss for the Red Devils and that is why Tottenham and Arsenal are making efforts to take advantage of the situation to steal him away.
Both London clubs are in dire need of defenders as they have struggled to stop goals from going into the net.
However, there are still doubts that United will let the England international defender leave the Old Trafford anytime soon knowing that he has got more to offer with his massive experience.
Meanwhile, United are struggling to add more options to the defence by involving in the January winter transfer window.
