Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic has thanked his fans after he was named runner-up in the inaugural Kopa trophy despite the transfer reports about his long-term future at the club.
He finished behind Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star Kylian Mbappe.
The Kopa trophy is for players under the age of 21.
Christian Pulisic has been heavily linked with an exit from German Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund with 18 months left on his contract.
His current Dortmund contract expires at the end of the 2019/20 season.
Premier League sides such as Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have been mentioned as possible transfer destinations for the 20-year-old forward.
Recent reports claim that the United States of America international favours a move to Liverpool over the other interested clubs including Chelsea.
It has been revealed that the Blues have already lodged a bid for Pulisic who’s seen by many as a potential replacement for Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard.
Borussia Dortmund officials would only entertain a bid of around £70m for the American player.
Chelsea star Hazard has been linked with Champions League holders Real Madrid for the better part of the last six months since his heroics for Belgium at the World Cup in the summer.
