Liverpool forward Liam Millar has put pen to paper on a new long-term contract at the club ahead of his move to Scottish Premiership club Kilmarnock.
The young Canadian attacker signed the new Reds contract shortly before he joined Kilmarnock on loan for the rest of this season.
The 19-year-old is yet to feature for the Liverpool first team but he has already shone for the youth teams.
The news of his contract extension was confirmed by the Reds just before the end of the winter transfer window on Thursday night.
He has joined a Kilmarnock side that’s punching above their weight under club manager Steve Clarke in the Scottish Premiership this season.
Kilmarnock are in a title race with more illustrious teams like Rangers and Celtic in the Scottish top flight.
Liam Millar joins other Liverpool players like Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold in signing long-term contracts at the club.
Both Alexander-Arnold and Robertson have played their part in the Reds’ run to the top of the Premier League table.
Liverpool have a five-point cushion over nearest challengers and defending champions Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.
Both teams have 14 games left to stake a claim to the league title for this season.
