Struggling Premier League outfit Fulham are in search of defensive reinforcements in the bid to avoid relegation at the end of this season.
Fulham have the worst defensive record in the league and the Cottagers are desperate to arrest the problem with some quality signings.
In a bid to achieve better defensive solidity, The Sun says that Fulham are keen on a move for Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne.
It was further revealed that the bottom team in the Premier League want to sign the 27-year-old defender during the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from the 1st of January.
Fulham will have to see off other interested parties in their quest to recruit the English international right-back from the Reds next month.
Former Premier League winners Leicester City and newly promoted side Cardiff City are also keen on a transfer for Clyne.
The former Southampton player has been on the fringes of the Liverpool first team and he’s the third choice right-back for the Reds after compatriots Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez.
Nathaniel Clyne was the first choice right-back before a long-term injury relegated him to a bit-part player at the club.
Alexander-Arnold and Gomez came into prominence at right-back as a result of his injury layoff.
