Spurs showed a superb display last night to unceremoniously end Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a 3-1 win at Wembley on Saturday.
The Mauricio Pochettino team were scintillatingly brilliant in a game they climbed above Maurizio Sarri’s led men to showcase their own potential to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the table.
Goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane put them two up inside 16 minutes and Son Heung-min made it three after the break with a brilliant solo goal.
The visiting side were a shadow of the team that had not been defeated in their opening 12 league games, although Olivier Giroud was able to score a consolation goal for his team.
In a post-match interview, Chelsea defender Azpilicueta said: The start was really bad whilst emphasizing that Tottenham didn’t let his team settle enough to play their own style of football.
He also promised Chelsea fans that the squad will look for ways to improve after such a disappointing defeat, adding: “It’s a tough one to take.
