There is no doubt that Arsenal have got a number of fans in the African country, Gabon. This is evident in the way striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was welcomed at the country when he touched down for the AFCON qualifiers against Burundi.
The former Borussia Dortmund striker has so far scored 22 goals for Arsenal this season in 39 games across all competitions which speaks of how much he has contributed to the team.
It is reported that hundreds of supporters turned up at the city of Libreville on Wednesday night to welcome the star striker with chants and cheers. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s brother Willy was on ground to capture the moment and had it posted on Instagram.
However, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to play for Gabon in their AFCON qualifiers against Burundi later on Saturday after missing out on the country’s 1-0 win over South Africa and the 1-0 defeat suffered against Mali.
Meanwhile, the star striker is expected to return back to the Emirates Stadium after the international break, where he is expected to help his Arsenal team seal a top-four finish so that he can be able to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season after missing out for two consecutive years.
