There are already concerns over the non-appearance of new Arsenal signing, Bernd Leno as his wait for a debut still lengthens.

Arsenal captured Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer for a fee of £22m but has yet to see a competitive action so far in this season.

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown feels it will be difficult for Leno to replace Petr Cech in goal at the moment, due to his form.

Although, the new pattern of play under Unai Emery which allows a build-up of an attack but his saves also and his experience gives him an edge over the new goalkeeper.

The former Chelsea goalkeeper has conceded eight goals in four games, without a clean sheet yet but Keown thinks Leno might still have to wait.

Responding to a question in a Q&A for the Daily Mail, Keown highlighted Leno’s advantage of holding the best record in Europe as the goalkeeper who is best in his distribution.

He said despite this, Leno is not best in stopping the balls he is expected to stoop.

The Arsenal legend added that the fact that the German has not made his way to the national team makes it more difficult for Arsenal manager, Unai Emery to be convinced of his ability.

However, there are possibilities that he might be considered and finally make his debut.

Gunners will travel to Ukranian outfit Vorskla for their Europa League clash in two weeks time.
