Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent has dropped another hint that the player is Manchester United bound – by saying his client wants to inflict “revenge” upon his former manager Pep Guardiola.
Ibrahimovic is out of contract at Paris Saint-German this summer and will announce his next club soon, after Sweden’s Euro 2016 campaign ends. His nation face Belgium in their final group game and are long odds to beat the Red Devils.
Manchester United is thought to be the 34-year-old’s most likely destination, with Jose Mourinho keen to instill star power and guaranteed goals at Old Trafford in his first season as manager.
Ibrahimovic’s agent, Mino Raiola, has dropped a big hint that the striker could be headed to United, as he wants “revenge” over Manchester City boss Guardiola.
The Spaniard managed Ibrahimovic during his one year at Barcelona, and the two parties constantly clashed and could not work together.
The striker has since complained over how he was treated by the manager, and Raiola believes “revenge” is at the top of his client’s list of priorities.
“I think he wants revenge on Guardiola, although he does not live for it because you shouldn’t have two graves – one for him and one for the enemy,” he said.
“It seems destiny wants to see that meeting take place. One option is to go to the Premier League but for as long as Sweden continue in the Euros there will be no solution.
“You learn more from defeats than you do from victories and Zlatan learned a lot from what happened with Guardiola.
“As a person, I don’t like him either. Zlatan admits he is a great coach and I can think it, but I refuse to admit it.”
