The Red Devils beat Manchester City to Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez during the winter transfer market as they offered Mkhitaryan to the Gunners in a swap deal.

11 months after the highly-rated move to Old Trafford, the Chilean star has failed to live up to his billings. He has only scored five goals in all competitions despite featuring regularly with the team.

Prior to the start of this season, the Red Devils faithful proposed that pre-season tour will help him return to the form he enjoyed while he was at the Emirates Stadium.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case with the former Barcelona star who started this season from where he stopped during the 2017-18 season.

Just as the previous campaign, Sanchez is being found wanting in his duty as a striker. He is expected to score goals with ease but that is missing in his game.

Goal or no goal, the Chilean star has failed to justify his price tag and it is high time to let him go elsewhere.

Apart from his personal display, the player’s presence at Old Trafford seems to be having a huge negative impact in the team, hence, Mourinho and his employers must decide to cash-in on his signature.

Here are another cogent reasons why the Red Devils must get rid of Sanchez’s signature in January

Cut the losses

Already, Sanchez’s switch to Old Trafford his unproductive as a result of his goal return. Paying a whopping £350,000 weekly wages to the Chilean for his dwindled form is totally absurd.
The Reds must let him go in January, so as to channel his salary to other areas of the team.

Negative influence on youngsters’ growth at Old Trafford

While heading to Old Trafford, United fans suggested that their youngsters will have a new and experienced player to learn from.

Instead of being an inspirational figure at Old Trafford, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were both affected by the Chilean star.

Both players were in top form before United completed their move for his services. His arrival pushed Mourinho into benching Marcus Rashford in most matches and that affected the young player’s performances throughout the second period of last season.

Martial was equally pushed down the pecking order by the Portuguese manager so as to create space for the workaholic winger.

Unsettled at Old Trafford

Despite his determination to return back to form, the former Arsenal man isn’t getting the goals he wanted and it seems he’s not destined to remain at the Theater of Dreams.

He hasn’t settled down quite well under Mourinho despite staying for 11 months. He should be released as soon as possible to give Martial and Rashford another chance to return to prominent.
