Liverpool are presently in their best form in recent years and it is likely they win their first silverware since 2013-14 season.
As result of their impressive run of results, Klopp might need to let go of some fringe players in the team and one of them is Alberto Moreno.
The left-back has failed in his mission to command a regular place in Klopp’s starting lineup and he’s being linked out the Anfield Stadium.
With his contract set to expire by the end of the current campaign, the Reds are reportedly looking to sanction his sale to any suitors as soon as possible in order to avoid losing him as free agent in the summer.
Though the Spanish left-back / left wing-back has featured in just three games for the Merseyside club in all competitions, his departure would create a great vacuum that must be filled by Jurgen Klopp during the winter transfer market.
WHO SHOULD REPLACE THE SPANIARD AT ANFIELD
Considering the fact that clubs would be very reluctant to release their best players midway into the season, Klopp will have to settle for a not-too-known defender in January.
In this regard, the German manager should bid for Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Jetro Willems in the next transfer window.
The 24-year-old defender made a low-profile move to the Bundesliga side for just £4.5m in August but he’s seen his market value skyrocketed as result of his wonderful performances.
He has featured in 19 matches for his German side in all competitions, assisting two goals in the process.
According to Daily Mail, Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has shown interest in the speedy wing-back and he is keen on bringing him to St James’ Park.
Klopp must hijack Benitez’s offer for the 24-year-old as he stand to benefit more from the player’s services.
WHAT WILL WILLIEMS BRING TO ANFIELD
As much as the 24-year-old will need to compete with established players for a place in the team’s starting lineup, Williems will provide more depth to the defence unit.
Should Moreno depart from Anfield, Klopp would be left without a capable backup for the position. He had already tried James Milner, Nathaniel Clyne and Trent Alexander-Anold at the left-back position but none of them performed up to standard.
This is why the former Borussia Dortmund boss must go for Jetro Williems who is a natural left-back as early as possible.
Luckily for the Reds, Williems is not an expensive player. According to the Mail, he could be signed for as low as £10m in January
