Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has definitely got a handful of issues at the moment. One solution we think of is that he should sign new classic players to strengthen his present squad. The French boss should also strive to secure new deals with a few key players.
Presently, the Gunners are not in their best condition as they’ve dropped to the fifth position in the EPL table – and are ready to be dropped further by in-form Manchester United should they allow. They are currently relying heavily on star striker Olivier Giroud to earn crucial points.
However, the Mirror reported that Wenger is looking to extend the contracts of veteran players like Per Mertesacker and Santi Cazorla.
Daily Star also stated that the North London club is planning to bring in Ricardo Peireira from Nice in a deal worth £20M.
Wenger must strive bringing in the Portuguese right-back this month- despite the fact that he is not a huge fan of the winter transfer window. His team currently lack quality depth in their right back position. It is obvious they will suffer again if their right-back first choice Hector Bellerin gets injured again- it is obvious the boss do not trust the duo of Debuchy and Jenkinson in the right back position.
Portuguese international Peireira is the right man. He can play on either side of the defense and has even been utilized as a right midfielder as well.
This season so far, he has been in top form for Nice, helping them sit on the top of the Ligue 1 table. In 15 league appearances, he has scored once and provided 3 assists.
