Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted there is nothing to worry about regarding the future of Alexis Sanchez at the club, amid Chelsea transfer link.
The Chilean forward has been a frustrated figure at the Emirates due to the Gunners’ recent poor form, and has stalled on renewing his contract at North London, fueling speculations that he wants to leave the club at the end of the season.
Sanchez came out last week to hint he could fancy a move to Chelsea, after revealing that he wants to remain in London but with a winning team, sparking strong indications that he will join the Blues at the end of the season. Antonio Conte is also understood to be a huge fan of Sanchez and would definitely move for him next summer.
However, Arsene Wenger has moved to dismiss the recent speculation that the Chilean’s agent has started negotiations with Chelsea, he said: ‘He has one and a half years left on his contract – I don’t see what’s new.
‘We are professional football people. Our job is to perform as long as were somewhere. When I sign a contract I commit to it until the final day.
‘I do not understand the anxiety. It’s denying what the professional guy is about.’
It is also understood that Paris Saint Germain are also monitoring Sanchez’s transfer situation and might swoop for him if Arsenal fails to sell him to a league rival.
