Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed ongoing talks for summer transfer targets to add to his current pool of talents at Liverpool.
He confirmed that Liverpool are currently in talks with potential additions to his squad and conceded that Champions League qualification will have an influence on any business they conduct
The Liverpool squad is currently in La Mange for a Mid-season training camp in a bid to overturn their woes following a string of defeats and elimination from the F.A. cup.
The Anfield based team however brought their win-less streak to a halt in win over Tottenham Hotspurs in their last fixture and must continue to garner points if they are to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Several Key players have committed their future to club with Philippe Coutinho signing a new deal, and it is expected that Adam Lallana will put the pen to paper for a new deal soon.
However, the former Borussia Dortmund manager is still hoping to make additions to his team when the summer transfer window opens at the end of the season.
“We are in talks with different people players, agents and all that stuff” Klopp told the Liverpool Echo. “Not a lot of decisions have already been made at this point. Why should they at this stage? He asked
“But we are on the way. At the end I’m sure we will have a very good squad.
“We already have a good squad and a few additions will make it even better. There’s a good base”
Liverpool are now in fifth place following their win against spurs, just a point behind arsenal in fourth place, as the race for champions league qualification heats up within the top six of the premier league.
