Usmanov to replicate Arsenal structure with next move

With his resolve to sell his stake at Arsenal to American Stan Kroenke for £600million, Billionaire Alisher Usmanov could be setting up another structure similar to what is obtainable at the Emirates with his next move.

Having spent several years with the club and made a failed effort to take over as the major shareholder, Usmanov is reported to be planning a move to take over Charlton Athletic.

Pundits say the Billionaire has already acquired a vast experience in the running of a club and the Arsenal structure which he could replicate in Charlton to help return the club to its glory days.

The Uzbekistan-born businessman, according to Darren Lewis could take advantage of the poor League One club whose owner, Roland Duchatelet demands just £20million for the south-east London club he took over in 2014 for a similar amount.

With Duchatelet’s unsuccessful attempts to sell the club, Charlton are believed to be losing around £10million a year, a situation the former Arsenal shareholder might take advantage of.

Duchatelet had earlier this week, admitted that he was unsuccessful in the football business and expressed regret for investing in the round leather game.

He concluded by saying the football business doesn’t suit him as he has lost a lot of his personal money.
