It had been believed that United were keen on a transfer move to land the 29-year-old this summer transfer window as manager Jose Mourinho looks to reinforce his team ahead of next campaign.
However, the same article states that although the two sides were thought to be in negotiations about a potential deal in May, there haven’t been any new rounds of talks.

As per the same report, it is possible that one issue in talks was the fact that Spurs wanted to sign French forward Anthony Martial as part of the transfer deal for the defender to head to Old Trafford.
