Manchester United are reportedly willing to wait until the end of the season when their star target and Uruguay international Diego Godin will be ready to leave Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.
The Red Devils are believed to be monitoring the situation with the player knowing that he is yet to agree on a deal that will have him stay longer than this season in the Spanish capital city.
Diego Godin is 32 years of age and there are suggestions that the La Liga outfit are reluctant to hand him a new deal which permits him to speak to interested clubs knowing that he is in his final six months of his contract with the club.
Reports, therefore, suggest that Diego Godin will not renew his contract at Atletico Madrid and will seek a move with the Red Devils already waiting to land him with a luring offer.
United will bank on Diego Godin’s experience and quality to help the Old Trafford side press through the second half with the hope of finishing in the top four for a Champions League qualification.
However, Atletico Madrid are expected to come out with a stand of the club on the future of Diego Godin in coming days, before the end of the winter transfer window.
