Unai Emery makes the final decision on who should replace Welbeck

Danny Welbeck

Arsenal chief has hinted that there would be a transfer deal for the club in the winter transfer window which opens in the coming month following the injury sustained by English forward Danny Welbeck.

The former Manchester United forward sustained a knee injury which is now reported to be a more serious problem than expected and it could mean that he will be on the sideline for a longer period of time.

This, therefore, makes it clear that the Gunners board will have to shift their ground doing some business for another striker in the New Year.

Unai Emery has longed been linked with Nicolas Pepe from the French Ligue 1 outfit Lille. It is now reported that he will prefer the player in January as Welbeck’s replacement.

The Gunners boss is believed to be aware of the £45 million release clause on the Ivory Coast international with the North London side willing to pay the bills.

Arsenal are battling with the former of Gabon and French strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette as they seem to have lost their mojo for goals.

An addition of Nicolas Pepe to the Gunners squad will add strength to their attack which will place them in a better position for the top four finish for a Champions League football next season.
