Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce have emerged as the major favorites to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
This is according to the report from Football Espana which claimed that the Turkish giants have usurped seven-time European champions AC Milan in the race to sign the former Arsenal captain.
Italian giants AC Milan were the favorites but they have had to take the back seat because of Financial Fairplay regulations.
According to Respected Turkish journalist, Sercan Hamzaoglu revealed that Fenerbahce president Ali Koc is in London to negotiate a contract but he didn’t mention Cesc Fabregas.
Spanish international midfielder Fabregas has settled for a cameo role at Chelsea this season following the arrival of former Empoli and Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri last summer.
The World Cup-winning midfielder had been a regular under immediate past Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and was a key member of the Blues squad that won the 2016/17 Premier League season.
The Spaniard had earlier been involved in the Premier League title win under Jose Mourinho during the 2014/15 season in what was his debut campaign as a Chelsea player.
Fenerbahce and AC Milan lead an array of clubs mooted, Fabregas has also been linked with a sensational return to Arsenal as well as a possible transfer to Manchester United.
