According to A Bola, Portuguese club Benfica are set to receive offers for Raul Jimenez this summer transfer window, as Premier League duo of Liverpool and West Ham seem interested in signing the Mexican striker.
Reports suggest both Premier League sides are interested in signing the 26-year-old Benfica forward this summer.
The striker was a part of the Mexico team that played the just concluded FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia and is believed to be up for sale. The record signing for the Portuguese club joined Benfica from La Liga side Atletico Madrid for a fee around £18.9 million two seasons ago.
That deal saw him became the most expensive Mexican football player in the history of Mexican football. He scored 11 goals in all competition for Benfica last campaign and has scored 12 international goals for the Mexican National team. The proven goal scorer scored in Mexico’s 2-1 triumph over New Zealand and saw red against Portugal in the third place play-off loss.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been in the transfer market for a striker but what needs to be noted is that Jimenez struggled to make a substantial impact at Atletico Madrid and does not have nice figures for Benfica either.
